Hi, I'm Krista!
I'm obsessed with creating things, exploring the world (and what it means to be human), and connecting as deeply & authentically with other people as I possibly can. I'm also a huge fan of organic supermarkets - I make a point of exploring at least one in each city that I visit.
I have a Masters in Visual & Media Anthropology from the Free University of Berlin, Germany which I obtained after completing my B.F.A. in Image Arts in Toronto. I'm also an AADP certified health & nutrition coach who focuses on intuitive eating, and the energetic, emotional, and spiritual blocks that prevent some women from living their healthiest, happiest lives.
I was recently featured as one of Yoga Digest's top "change makers" , and my 10-time award nominated comedy series, Wholesome Foods, I Love You... Is That OK? - hailed "one of the great new episodic comedies to hit the web" - is currently streaming on Amazon Prime (5-star rating! “Slacker for millennial women!”). The series is also an Official Section at NYC Webfest, Miami Webfest, Sicily Webfest, Seoul Webfest, New Jersey Webfest, and Minnesota Webfest.
In 2019, I was selected as one of the Women in Film mentorship circle mentees in the actor/content creator cohort. The program is one of WIF LA’s most competitive and I feel beyond grateful to be working closely with Sara Finn (Casting at Marvel) and Melanie Donkers (Mermade).
I speak four languages, and am a proud Canadian of Armenian, German, Italian, Scandinavian, & Scottish descent.
I used to be a competitive synchronized swimmer (Canadian national bronze medalist), have dabbled in African dance and belly dancing, practiced yoga with boa snakes... and I'm afraid of balls -- basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, nerf balls, balls made of masking tape... they will inevitably hit me square in the face. *Note: This fear has substantially begun to subside since recently taking up Muay Thai/Boxing.
I believe in having the courage to tell the truth, extreme self-care, and in leaping even when I'm terrified of falling flat on my face (though I might have to make several pro/con lists and "sit with it" before taking that leap). I also believe in the power of deep breaths, belly laughs, stillness, taking both everything & nothing seriously, sunny days, and the Oxford comma.
